Thanks BrutallyHonestGuy . I’ve read till I’ve seen them prices. No chance I’m paying that much to host my video there for “sale”

It’s a good business model for the owner as he will probably earn more money from contributors than commissions from sales.

€30 and even €50 you easy can build your own video agency with decent server space.

Also why the buyer will go to this agency when they can probably find same video on other agencies? The market is already over saturated, with Ai , video will be east achievable.

In my opinion, it’s not worth it.

Fair enough that charging contributors to upload isn't common especially when an agency is already taking a 50% commission on sales.

I don't necessarily agree with it (i think it's better if they took a higher commission) but I'm not in their shoes.

Having said that, paying them a monthly fee on the higher end of 50 euros means that they would clip, colour grade and upload up to 100 clips a month. As mentioned in the interview, this seems like a huge cost savings exercise because I would probably spend like 20 hours to this type of work and my time is worth more than 2/3 euros per hour.

There's also the community aspect, networking opportunities, courses and other perks such as fast-tracking trips where you're automatically granted authorization that seem very interesting to me.

It's also not for everybody, they're looking for those that can produce outstanding work in a niche market, not microstockers.

Different story if we talk about film production which requires professional colour grading. But again, people who buys our clips are probably film producers and they will apply colour grading accordingly to their needs.

They probably targeting film producers, or professionals. But again, I can’t see them paying that fees to have their work for sale, when they are the one who create quality content.

Still haven’t sold it to me with all them perks.

To me look like all agencies start with big ambitions, but after a while we are all getting screwed.

To me looks basic presets.

Don’t know, maybe I’m arrogant. But why a client will go on such small agency when they can go to bigger one like Pond5, SS or Getty.

Maybe the client won’t be able to find the same contributor, but definitely tons of similar aerial footages.

I could give a try if I see some real reports.

This is all quite legitimate and reasonable worries. God knows how many times I've been burned with a new agency that promises gold and delivers bronze. One example for me is Robert Harding.

Nothing these days is certain anymore, including Pond5 (which now belongs to Shutterstock) and Getty which notoriously sell clips at iStock for a few bucks.

Fabio Nodari is my guinea pig and has recently joined them and started uploading content. I will keep in touch with him regularly and if he allows me, report on his progress. Then I/we can make a decision.

Well, if this was me. I would do exactly the same. And to motivate contributors keeping their monthly subscription, I would occasionally buy a random clip from the contributor.

This way , the contributor will think that the agency is worth it and it’s ok to keep paying monthly subscription.

But again, I might be wrong
