Yes, I do upload to some agencies. From beginning I started to upload to all, but now I upload only to few agencies my drone footages. Because is more difficult to create content with drone than camera.

To be honest, not that great. I know some people reported good income, but me I still struggle.

How about yourself? Do you sell lots of drone footages?

What footages you'd recommend to create, in order for them to sell?

Has taken me a little while but now regularly selling images and videos taken from the drone at the usual place, Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, iStock and Pond 5 (but not so much lately).

Check out this blog post I published over at the Xpiks blog that talks about my drone journey:

I believe ave read that. Iā€™m thinking is still hard game. Yes, I do make some sales too, on MA and some shutter stock. Did made some on AS too. But not many .

How many images and videos you have in your portfolio? Only made by a drone

Don't have exactly numbers but it's about 1,000 images and 400 clips spread throughout many agencies
Thatā€™s good numbers of videos and images. I got over 2k of images. But not too many videos. Not sure why I donā€™t focus more on videos these days. As you can generate images using Ai, videos are still safe for now.

Are all these images has commercial value ?

Here is how much I've earned with drone content. Plus another $2k or so with book covers at Arcangel.

Starting to sell much more now than a year ago...soon drone content will take over other content imo.

Iā€™m impressed. Looks I need to focus more on drone content.

Iā€™ve noticed that some drone content I took in Cornwall, do start selling. But 0.10 cents , a bit low, probably too low

By the way, I tried that Arcangel. But have been rejected couple of times. Gave up šŸ˜†

Have you heard about tongro images ?

Yeah, frustrating how much prices have dropped, on average.

Nope, never heard of Tongro, will check them out.

Arcangel are tough to get in, they are looking for super specific content.

I have been accepted for images and recently for videos on their board. Seems they are South Korean agency.

Them royalties probably will go even more down. Seems we need to get new business plan šŸ˜†

Donā€™t think Iā€™ll try Arcangel again. Not worth my time. And probably my content doesnā€™t fit in their port too.

With all the AI generated footage flooding the platforms, The only drone footage worth selling is the one you take of actual recognizable places. I have a lot more success selling footage directly. I do a lot of urban videos. Took hundreds of overviews of disticnt neighbourhoods and landmarks in a few nearby cities. Placed my contacts and repository overview with the local nes agencies. In general twice a month I get a request from a local news station when something news worthy happened and they need just some B-Roll to flesh it out. Usually its 250ā‚¬ for a 5 second clip of that area.

Thatā€™s interesting. Do you share your videos on YouTube or advertise ?

I have a huge private repository that I share with the agencies so they can use existing footage without prior inquiry as speed is an important factor in that business. So usually they just take what they need, and send me an email afterwards for an invoice and then pay. I have no contracts with any of them, but terms and conditions in the repo. So its more or less trust based, but I only had one incident where one agency simply forgot to pay in the rush of events. But that got settled friendly very fast.

Other than that I have a website (in german) for more general purposes and inquiries. 3ol.one . There and on youtube I post some more random edits, and sometimes there are inquries about more or raw footage from those edits. And sometimes death threads ^^

Thatā€™s interesting. You need to produce very high quality content to have such connections with agencies.

From my understanding, you are not uploading on their sites, just private gallery ?
